Punjab Govt Announces Fuel Subsidy of Rs. 150 per Liter for Farmers

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced financial support for wheat growers owning up to 25 acres of land in the province.

Under the package, eligible farmers will receive a subsidy of Rs. 150 per liter on 10 liters of diesel for each acre.

The chief minister said that during the ongoing global crisis, rising oil prices are leading to higher petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan. She added that she is personally overseeing the subsidy system to ensure financial benefits reach every farmer through a transparent and effective process.

Maryam Nawaz also announced the abolition of motorbike registration fee charges across Punjab. She said motorbike transfer fees have also been waived.

In addition, she announced a monthly subsidy of Rs. 2,000 for every registered bike. Under the package, each registered motorbike will receive subsidy on 20 liters of petrol per month, with petrol available at a subsidy of Rs. 100 per liter.

She said the relief package has been launched with immediate effect.
