Quetta Gladiators’ bowling all-rounder Ahmed Daniyal was rushed to the hospital after sustaining an injury during their ongoing 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) match against Multan Sultans at Gaddafi Stadium.
The incident occurred on the second-to-last delivery of the Gladiators’ innings. Daniyal slipped while attempting to complete a third run and injured himself. He had to be carried off the field immediately.
According to an official update, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the 28-year-old suffered a right hamstring injury and was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
“Quetta Gladiators’ Ahmed Daniyal suffered a right hamstring injury while completing a third run on the fifth ball of the last over of their innings. He has been taken to hospital for further scans,” the PCB said in a statement.
The board added that Daniyal’s participation in the remainder of the match will depend on the severity of the injury and clearance from the Gladiators’ medical team.
“His participation in the remainder of the ongoing Match 13 will be determined on the extent of injury and clearance from Quetta Gladiators’ medical team,” the statement added.
Daniyal’s absence in the second innings came as a major setback for Quetta Gladiators. The team had set a target of 167 runs for Multan Sultans, with captain Saud Shakeel scoring a half-century.
In response, Multan Sultans made a strong start, reaching 96 for 2 in eight overs. Steve Smith, unbeaten on 40 off 19 balls, led the aggressive chase alongside opener Sahibzada Farhan, who scored 32 off 14 deliveries.
