The Islamabad Excise Department has removed the motorcycle transfer fee as part of efforts to facilitate citizens seeking to benefit from the government’s petrol subsidy scheme.
The decision is aimed at ensuring that relief measures reach eligible individuals, particularly those whose motorcycles are not registered in their names.
According to Director General Excise Irfan Memon, citizens can now transfer ownership of their motorcycles without paying any fee at the Excise Office in Islamabad.
He said the move is intended to remove barriers that may prevent people from availing the subsidy.
To manage the expected increase in applications, the department has decided to keep its offices open 24 hours a day.
Additional counters have also been set up to facilitate the transfer process and reduce waiting times for applicants.
