Islamabad Bans Entry of Heavy Vehicles

Islamabad Police have banned the entry of heavy vehicles into the federal capital from today as security and movement restrictions tighten ahead of expected high-level diplomatic meeting in the city.

In a traffic advisory, police said heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Islamabad and urged transporters and vehicle owners to cooperate with authorities.

The restriction appears to be part of broader security arrangements being put in place in the capital amid reports that Islamabad is set to host talks between US and Iranian officials later this week following the recently announced two-week ceasefire.

Over the past 24 hours, Islamabad has seen a series of unusual administrative measures, including local holidays, the closure of schools and colleges, and the requisitioning of Serena Hotel, all pointing to preparations for a major official engagement.

Police have advised the public to call the traffic helpline 1915 for updates and follow Islamabad Police’s social media pages and the Islamabad Traffic Police WhatsApp channel for the latest traffic information.
