ECC Approves Rs. 5.1 Billion Grants for Vaccination

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the federal cabinet has approved Technical Supplementary Grants (TSG) totaling Rs5.1 billion for key national programs.

The ECC approved Rs2.8 billion for the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) to support vaccination of over eight million children, covering pooled procurement of vaccines, syringes, and Cold Chain Equipment Optimization Platform (CCEOP) in coordination with provinces.

An additional Rs2 billion was allocated to the Federal Education and Professional Training Division, sourced through adjustments within the Public Sector Development Program.

Meanwhile, Rs306 million was approved for the Airports Security Force (ASF) to meet essential obligations, including payments under the Prime Minister’s Assistance Package.

The committee, chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, also approved amendments to the Import Policy Order (IPO) 2022 for Areca nut imports, introducing pre-shipment inspections and enhanced regulatory oversight to ensure food safety compliance and facilitate trade.
