PAA Includes Lahore Airport in Route to Makkah for Hajj 2026

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has announced that Allama Iqbal International Airport will be included in the Route to Makkah project for Hajj 2026, enabling pilgrims to complete immigration and customs procedures before departure.

Under the initiative, Saudi authorities will conduct biometric verification and passport clearance at Lahore airport, allowing pilgrims to arrive in Saudi Arabia without undergoing further immigration checks.

First-time launch in Lahore

A PAA spokesperson confirmed that a high-level coordination meeting was held at the airport to review preparations for launching the facility in Lahore for the first time.

The meeting was attended by Fuwaz Saud Al Shafiri and officials from the Saudi Embassy, who held discussions with Airport Manager Erfan Khan and representatives from multiple departments.

Multi-agency coordination

Key stakeholders included the:

  • Airport Security Force
  • Federal Investigation Agency
  • Anti-Narcotics Force
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan

The initiative aims to streamline travel for Hajj pilgrims, reduce processing time upon arrival, and enhance coordination between Pakistani and Saudi authorities.
