The Government of Punjab has taken a major step to enhance the security of polio workers by linking them with the Safe City Authorities’ digital system.
Authorities have started work to connect over 13,000 polio workers with the Safe City network through a dedicated mobile application.
Under the new system, polio workers will be required to update their location before and after field duties. This will allow police and other law enforcement agencies to monitor their movement in real time.
Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen security arrangements for polio teams, ensuring safer operations during vaccination campaigns.
The move comes as part of broader efforts to protect frontline health workers and improve coordination between health and security agencies across Punjab.
