Fits Air has launched its first route to Pakistan, introducing a direct air link between Colombo and Lahore, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) said on Saturday.
The airline’s inaugural flight, 8D-981, arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport at 8:35 p.m. with 134 passengers, marking the start of its operations in the country.
The new service is expected to improve connectivity between Pakistan and Sri Lanka by adding another travel option on the route. The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) said passengers were welcomed on arrival and presented with roses.
A cake-cutting ceremony was held at the airport to mark the launch. The return flight, 8D-982, later departed for Colombo at 9:40 p.m. carrying 66 passengers.
