The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced that all Hajj pilgrims this year will receive free SIM cards with call and internet packages during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Spokesperson Umer Butt said the initiative aims to help pilgrims stay connected with family and officials throughout the pilgrimage.
Under the plan, pilgrims opting for the 40-day package will receive 600 local and international minutes along with 40GB of internet data.
Those choosing the short package will be provided 300 minutes and 25GB of data. The minutes can be used for both incoming and outgoing calls.
Authorities have advised pilgrims to use only the officially issued SIM, warning that only one SIM will be issued per passport. Obtaining additional SIMs may result in cancellation of the official connection.
Recharge facilities will be available at designated accommodation points, where pilgrims can purchase additional balance if needed.
The ministry also confirmed that pre-Hajj flight operations will begin on April 18, with around 120,000 pilgrims set to travel under the government scheme.
A total of 468 flights will operate over 34 days until May 21, departing from major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan.
Pilgrims have been encouraged to use the Pak Hajj 2026 mobile application to access flight schedules, accommodation details, and real-time updates.
Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to improve facilitation and communication for Pakistani pilgrims during Hajj 2026.
