Karachi is set to get three new single-screen cinemas as part of an initiative aimed at reviving film culture and expanding entertainment options for audiences.
The projects are underway in the upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA), where two cinemas are nearing completion and a third is under construction as part of a joint venture with a private company.
One of the key developments, the Innovesta Auditorium Theatre Cinema, has been designed as a multi-purpose facility that will host not only film screenings but also corporate events and functions. Another venue is planned as a premium “royal theatre,” featuring 24 recliner seats and advanced Dolby Atmos sound.
The projects are also expected to support emerging filmmakers, actors, and distributors by offering opportunities to showcase their work. Improved facilities are likely to enhance audience experience and encourage better-quality content.
While ticket prices have not yet been finalized, affordability is expected to remain a priority to attract a wider audience. Premieres and inaugurations are expected soon, marking what many see as a new phase for Karachi’s cinema industry.
