The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority has signed agreements with two private firms to launch new housing projects under joint venture and public-private partnership frameworks.

According to a statement issued by the authority, memorandums of understanding were signed with M/s Saadat Enterprises for a project on Chakri Road in Rawalpindi and with M/s Tameer Estate for a separate development on Angoori Road in Murree.

One of the projects involves the construction of mixed-use apartments on 196 kanals of land on Angoori Road, Murree, with the potential for expansion up to 1,000 kanals. Under this arrangement, FGEHA will serve as facilitator and regulator, while the private partner will handle financing, design and construction.

The second project includes the development of a housing scheme on approximately 1,400 kanals of land on Chakri Road, Rawalpindi, near the proposed Ring Road, with scope for further expansion.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Director General Zafar Iqbal said the projects are expected to improve infrastructure, create employment opportunities and support economic activity.

He added that the initiative aligns with the authority’s focus on promoting transparency, efficiency and innovation in the housing sector through public-private partnerships, while also encouraging investment and modern urban development in Pakistan.
