Sindh Bans Sale of Books and Uniforms in Private Schools

The Sindh Education and Literacy Department has imposed a complete ban on the sale of textbooks, uniforms, and stationery within private schools across the province.

According to a new notification, private school administrations are no longer allowed to sell books, copies, uniforms, or other items on school premises.

The department has also barred schools from forcing parents to purchase items from specific shops or vendors.

Schools have been directed to provide a complete list of required books and stationery at the start of the academic year, allowing parents to buy from the open market.

Officials further clarified that requiring parents to purchase notebooks with a school-specific monogram or logo is also illegal.

The directive aims to reduce the financial burden on parents and improve transparency in education-related expenses.

The Directorate of Private Institutions has warned that strict action will be taken against schools that violate the rules, including heavy fines and possible cancellation of registration.

Parents and members of civil society have welcomed the move, calling it a step toward making education more affordable.

  • Yet another joke of the century. Just like you reported in Private school not to increase fees, soon that year they increased it to an extent that it became burden on thr parents.

Also if you say so, can you let me know where to report such a matter. You never share details just pathetic & pointless reports that have nothing to do with reality.

  • Why don’t government realize that school does sale at school premises but they just tell the name of shop. And parents doesn’t buy their logo copies, teachers don’t check copies and management punishes the students continuously. The printing should be band, plz

  • Education with PVT school/college is becoming nightmare in current scenario because most of the schools are focusing only on Earning priority from children’s so in my opinion there is very hard to continue education in pvt school /colleges in near future. Because here frequent Notices are being taken but no rule or regulation will be implemented.

  • Today I have paid 30000 RS for course payment for two children complete course and 1 child only copies.. payment is made in school with their logos in copies etc..

  • You send your government peoples in school off time 1 to 1 30 o’clock when there are parents who take their child and then you hear their problems last year I pay 1000 extra charges with fees fine when I only pay fees only one day I late pay 15 date zulm ho raha taleem k naam mai
