Islamabad United Crush Hyderabad Kingsmen to Seal PSL 11 Playoff Spot

Islamabad United stormed into the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) playoffs with a crushing eight-wicket win over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 36th match at the National Bank Stadium, producing one of the most one-sided results in league history.

The emphatic result sent Islamabad United into the playoffs alongside Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans.

The three-time PSL champions first ripped through Hyderabad’s batting line-up and then chased down the modest target with ridiculous ease, finishing the job with 80 balls to spare.

Asked to bat first, Hyderabad Kingsmen collapsed for just 80 in 15.5 overs, recording the lowest total of PSL 11 so far and the lowest-ever score at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.

Fresh from his century in the previous match, Usman Khan was the only batter to show any resistance, remaining unbeaten on 25 off 35 balls. Apart from him, only Saim Ayub, Kusal Perera and Asif Mehmood managed to reach double figures, scoring 12 each.

Islamabad’s bowling was ruthless from start to finish. Richard Gleeson, Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan claimed three wickets each, while Salman Mirza chipped in with one scalp.

The total also became the fifth-lowest score in PSL history, putting Hyderabad Kingsmen on an unwanted list already featuring Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators.

In reply, Islamabad also lost an early wicket when Devon Conway fell for a duck on the second ball of the innings, but that was the only brief moment of joy for Hyderabad.

Sameer Minhas and Mohsin Riaz then made light work of the chase with a rapid partnership that all but sealed the match. Riaz smashed 42 off 18 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes, before falling late in the innings.

Minhas stayed unbeaten on 27 off 20, with three fours and a six, while captain Shadab Khan struck the winning boundary on the first ball he faced.

It was also a record-breaking win. Islamabad’s victory with 80 balls remaining is now the biggest in PSL history by balls left, overtaking the previous record of 79.
