Peshawar Zalmi have received a major boost ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) final, with Nahid Rana cleared to play after being granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The 23-year-old fast bowler has played four matches in the tournament, taking seven wickets. He missed Zalmi’s recent fixtures after being called up for national duty in a three-match ODI series against the New Zealand national team, which Bangladesh won 2-1.
During that series, Rana was joined by Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman, both of whom are also associated with Lahore Qalandars in franchise cricket.
Earlier, on April 13, Zalmi owner Javed Afridi requested newly appointed BCB chairman and former captain Tamim Iqbal on X to allow Rana and Shoriful Islam to participate in the final stages of the PSL.
Afridi later reposted his message, once again thanking Tamim for granting permission to Rana to represent Zalmi in the final.

The final is scheduled for Sunday at Gaddafi Stadium, marking Zalmi’s fifth appearance in a PSL final.
In the second qualifier, Zalmi posted 221-7 in 20 overs after being put in to bat. Captain Babar Azam led from the front with 103 runs off 59 balls, including 12 fours and four sixes.
In response, Islamabad United were bowled out for 151 in 18.4 overs. Aaron Hardie took three wickets, while Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohammad Basit claimed two wickets each. Michael Bracewell and Khurram Shahzad picked up one wicket each.
Meanwhile, the playoff stage continues, with Hyderabad Kingsmen set to face Multan Sultans in Eliminator 1 on Wednesday. The winner will advance to Eliminator 2 to take on Islamabad United, who lost the Qualifier.
