Pakistan Post Restores International Mail Service to 188 Countries

Pakistan Post has resumed booking of international outbound mail to 188 destinations with immediate effect after a temporary suspension caused by the Middle East conflict.

According to a press release, the service had been halted due to disruptions linked to the regional situation but has now been restored following new logistical arrangements.

An official circular issued by Additional Director General Pakistan Post Maqsood Ahmed stated that coordination has been established with seven international transit hubs to ensure smooth handling of mail originating from Pakistan.

The designated transit points include Azerpost via Baku, Emirates Post via Dubai, Pos Malaysia via Kuala Lumpur, Turkish Post via Istanbul, PostNL via Amsterdam, Australia Post via Sydney, and China Post via Beijing.

The circular also noted that direct flight connectivity through Pakistan International Airlines is available for certain destinations to support the service. However, Pakistan Post said booking of mail remains suspended for 19 destinations, including Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen.

The department said services to these countries will be restored in phases once suitable operational arrangements are finalized.
