Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday reviewed major infrastructure projects in Karachi and directed departments to speed up work on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line while ensuring quality and transparency.
The chief minister, accompanied by provincial ministers, the Karachi mayor, and senior officials, inspected the Red Line corridor from Peoples Chowrangi to Safoora Chowrangi and later visited Pahalwan Goth to assess rehabilitation work on the main traffic route.
Officials briefed him that repair, patchwork, and rehabilitation of mixed-traffic lanes on University Road are underway, along with road widening works.
The chief minister expressed concern over recurring water accumulation at Nipa and directed authorities to implement a permanent solution. He was informed that asphalt overlay work on different sections is being carried out during nighttime to reduce inconvenience for commuters.
He directed officials to ensure visible progress, stating that work should continue in multiple shifts to meet deadlines and provide relief to the public. The chief minister also inspected the under-construction Azeempura flyover at Shah Faisal Colony and directed that the project be completed within 90 days.
