Sindh Orders Private Schools to Refund Unauthorized Fees

Private schools in Sindh have been ordered to refund fees collected from Class X students for a period not permitted under official guidelines, with authorities warning of legal action in case of non-compliance.

The directive has been issued by the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh (DIRPIS), which said the move follows its earlier notification dated April 22.

According to DIRPIS, multiple complaints were received against privately managed schools that charged students for a timeframe outside the scope defined in the earlier instructions.

In response, the authority has directed all private institutions to immediately return the excess amount to parents or students. DIRPIS warned that schools failing to comply with the order will face action under the relevant rules.

The circular, issued by Additional Director Prof Rafia Mallah, has been circulated to regional directorates and school administrations across the province for immediate enforcement.
