Islamabad administration has issued a new notification outlining updated timings under austerity measures, granting relief to gyms and sports facilities while maintaining restrictions on markets and commercial outlets.
According to the notification, gyms, sports facilities, call centers, and IT companies working with international clients and padel courts have been exempted from the 8 pm closure rule and will now be allowed to operate late into the night.
Updated Timings in Islamabad
Despite this relaxation, the government has retained early closing hours for most businesses. Shops, markets, and shopping malls will continue to close at 8 pm under existing energy-saving measures.
Restaurants, food outlets, and grocery stores are required to shut down by 10 pm. Similarly, please close marriage halls, marquees, and other commercial event venues by 10 pm, as per previous directives.
Exemptions for Essential Services
The notification confirms that medical stores, hospitals, and laboratories remain exempt from all time restrictions. Petrol pumps, CNG stations, and milk shops have also been excluded from closure timings.
Additionally, call centres and IT companies working with international clients have been granted an exemption to continue operations without time limits.
No Restrictions on Delivery Services
Authorities clarified that takeaway and home delivery services will not be subject to any time restrictions, ensuring continued convenience for residents.
The new rules have been enforced immediately and will remain in effect until further notice.
