The Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) has released nationwide data showing that more than 400,000 students failed to pass intermediate examinations in 2025.
The data indicates that the highest number of failures came from Punjab province. A total of 759,431 students from nine educational boards appeared in the exams, out of which 270,068 failed.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 282,585 students from eight educational boards took part in the examinations, with 5,316 students failing.
In Sindh, 380,013 students from six educational boards appeared in the exams, and 53,034 were unable to pass.
In Balochistan, 54,456 students participated in the annual examinations under the Quetta board, where 3,147 students failed.
The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) reported that 100,993 students appeared in the exams, with 17,319 failing.
Additionally, 48,031 intermediate students appeared in another set of examinations, and all 48,031 students failed.
The IBCC data highlights the overall performance of students across the country in the 2025 intermediate examinations.
