The Sindh provincial cabinet has imposed a ban on new hiring at the Sehwan Development Authority (SDA) and decided to move 421 employees into a surplus pool.
The decision was taken during a key cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, where a 25-point agenda was reviewed.
The hiring ban is part of a broader set of measures concerning the authority. Alongside this decision, the cabinet also approved development projects worth billions of rupees for different parts of the province.
In a related move, the cabinet approved Rs. 615.7 million for the payment of SDA’s liabilities. However, the release of these funds has been made conditional on the implementation of a strict restructuring plan.
