Pakistan Women Set Multiple Records in 2nd ODI Against Zimbabwe

Pakistan Women produced a record-breaking performance to defeat Zimbabwe by 206 runs in the second ODI in Karachi, sealing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

The victory also helped Pakistan maintain their unbeaten home ODI record against Zimbabwe while registering the biggest win in the history of Pakistan women’s ODIs.

After opting to bat first, Pakistan posted a commanding total of 343 before bowling Zimbabwe out for 137 in 39 overs.

The 206-run triumph surpassed Pakistan’s previous biggest ODI win of 193 runs against the Netherlands in Fatullah in 2011.

Pakistan’s Biggest Wins in Women’s ODIs

  • 206 runs vs Zimbabwe — Karachi, 2026
  • 193 runs vs Netherlands — Fatullah, 2011
  • 168 runs vs Zimbabwe — Karachi, 2026
  • 157 runs vs Ireland — Dublin, 2013
  • 153 runs vs Japan — Amsterdam, 2003

Pakistan’s innings was powered by openers Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas, who dominated Zimbabwe’s bowling attack from the start with a superb 189-run opening partnership inside 31 overs.

The stand became the second-highest opening partnership for Pakistan Women in ODI cricket. The record still belongs to Sidra Amin and Muneeba Ali, who achieved the feat against Ireland at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in November 2022.

Both Feroza and Shamas scored their maiden ODI centuries during the innings.

Feroza also made history by registering the fastest century by a Pakistan batter in women’s ODIs, reaching the milestone in just 93 balls. The previous record belonged to Sidra Amin, who had scored a hundred off 97 deliveries against South Africa last year.

After Zimbabwe finally broke the opening stand, Pakistan continued to accelerate through useful contributions from Sidra Amin, who remained unbeaten on 59 off 58 balls, captain Fatima Sana’s quickfire 25 off 13 deliveries, and Aliya Riaz’s 27 off 14.

Pakistan’s total became their highest-ever ODI score at home and also their highest total in a winning cause.

In reply, Zimbabwe struggled throughout the chase despite efforts from Kelis Ndhlovu (32), Beloved Biza (29), and Runyararo Pasipanodya, who remained unbeaten on 33.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana led from the front with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 15 runs. Syeda Aroob Shah picked up 2 for 18, while Rameen Shamim and Momina Riasat claimed two wickets each.

The third and final ODI of the series, which will be played as a day-night match, is scheduled to take place in Karachi on May 9.
