Pakistan’s Biggest Tractor Manufacturer to Enter EV Bike Market

Millat Tractors Limited has confirmed that one of its group companies is evaluating the feasibility of entering Pakistan’s electric motorcycle segment.

In a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on May 7, 2026, the company said the clarification was issued in response to recent market speculation regarding its possible entry into the EV bike market.

Earlier social media reports had suggested that Millat Group of Industries was preparing to enter Pakistan’s electric two-wheeler market through a large-scale assembly and localized production operation focused on affordable electric bikes.

The report claimed the group was exploring a strategy centered on localization, durability, and after-sales support, areas where Millat already has an established presence through its agricultural machinery and engineering businesses.

However, the company clarified that the matter remains at a preliminary stage and no final decision has yet been made regarding electric bike production in Pakistan.

The development comes as Pakistan’s electric vehicle sector gains momentum following the government’s push under the National Electric Vehicle Policy and the recently approved second phase of the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification Program.

In recent months, the government has announced multiple incentives and policy measures aimed at accelerating EV adoption, including support for electric two wheelers, battery technology, localization, and charging infrastructure.

Pakistan’s motorcycle market remains one of the largest in the region, with annual sales historically ranging between 1.2 million and 1.5 million units. Industry experts believe electric motorcycles could see faster adoption due to rising fuel prices, lower operating costs, and growing urban commuting demand.

Millat Tractors is one of Pakistan’s largest tractor manufacturers and has remained a major player in the agricultural machinery industry for decades. The company, established in 1964, manufactures tractors in collaboration with Massey Ferguson technology and has produced hundreds of thousands of tractors for the domestic market.
