Over 14,000 Hoarded Wheat Bags Recovered During Crackdown in Punjab

Sargodha Deputy Commissioner(DC) Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry ordered an intensified crackdown on the illegal storage and transportation of wheat across the district, as authorities recovered 14,250 wheat bags during raids conducted at multiple locations.

A joint team of the Food Department and Price Control and Revenue Anti-Profiteering Force, headed by Assistant Commissioner (AC), Sahiwal Khan Shams-ur-Rehman, carried out the operations and shifted the confiscated wheat to the PR Centre in Sargodha.

According to officials,2,000 wheat bags were recovered from a godown in Lakhwal, while another 2,300 bags were seized during a raid in Mochiwal.

In separate operations in Abuwala, authorities recovered 3,750 bags from two warehouses. Meanwhile,3,600 bags were seized from Mouza Balochan and 600 bags from a warehouse in Mouza Sial Sharif.

Officials further said that raids on two warehouses in Mouza Nooriwala led to the recovery of 1,000 wheat bags each.

DC Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry said indiscriminate action against those involved in illegal wheat hoarding and transportation would continue, adding that strict implementation of government directives was being ensured across the district.
