PIA to Resume Flights to Oman From 3 Pakistani Cities

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will resume flight operations to the Sultanate of Oman starting next week, according to the Pakistani embassy in Muscat.

In a post shared on X on Friday, the embassy informed the Pakistani community in Oman that the airline would restart its operations from May 13.

The national carrier will operate five weekly flights, reconnecting Muscat with Islamabad, Lahore, and Multan.

Under the announced schedule, Muscat-Lahore flights will operate every Tuesday and Thursday, Muscat-Multan flights will run every Wednesday and Saturday, while Muscat-Islamabad flights will operate every Friday.

PIA had suspended flights to China, Malaysia, and several Gulf countries in early April amid rising jet fuel prices. However, operations to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates continued during the suspension period.

Earlier this week, the airline also announced the discontinuation of fare discounts previously offered to students, bankers, senior citizens, journalists, retired military personnel, and members of the Airport Security Force due to increasing fuel costs.

PIA said only children and newborns would continue to receive discounted fares.
