Marka-e-Haq 10 May Traffic Plan Announced for Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Islamabad Police has issued a diversion plan for the Youm-e-Markha-e-Haq on May 10, with road closures and alternate routes announced for commuters travelling across Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

According to the plan, traffic diversions will remain in place from 6 PM to 12 AM on several major roads in the capital.

In addition, the entry of all heavy transport vehicles will be prohibited from 4 AM to 12 AM on May 10.

As part of the plan, Srinagar Highway will remain closed in both directions from Koralianwala Chowk to Peshawar Mor. Meanwhile, Islamabad Expressway from Faizabad to Khayaban Chowk will be closed for travel to and from Faisal Avenue.

Traffic police have advised citizens to use alternate routes to avoid disruption. People travelling from the Motorway or Islamabad Chowk towards Bhara Kahu or Murree have been asked to use 9th Avenue via Colonel Sher Khan Road (IJP Road) and continue through Murree Road.

Similarly, commuters coming from Murree or Bhara Kahu towards the Motorway should travel via Murree Road to Faizabad, then use Colonel Sher Khan Road (IJP Road) and 9th Avenue.

Those heading from the Motorway towards the Red Zone or nearby sectors should proceed from Peshawar Mor via 9th Avenue and use Jinnah Avenue or Margalla Road. Residents of the Red Zone and adjacent sectors travelling towards Rawalpindi or the Motorway have also been directed to use Margalla Road or Jinnah Avenue to reach 9th Avenue.

People travelling from the Expressway towards Islamabad sectors should move from Faizabad via Colonel Sher Khan Road (IJP Road) to 9th Avenue, while commuters coming from Rawalpindi to Islamabad have been advised to use Colonel Sher Khan Road via Faqir Aipee Road or 9th Avenue.

For traffic originating from Scheme Three or Amar Chowk, the advised route is Rawal Road to Chandni Chowk, Murree Road, and Club Road towards the Red Zone, Bhara Kahu, or Murree.

Those traveling from Murree or Bhara Kahu towards Korang Chowk or Rewat T-Cross on GT Road should use Korang Road, Banigala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road. Meanwhile, commuters travelling from Peshawar Mor towards Korang or Rewat T-Cross have been asked to take 9th Avenue via Stadium Double Road to Rawal Road.

The traffic police also said that from 5 PM to 12 AM, all LTV vehicles will be diverted from Rewat T-Cross towards Rawalpindi.

Citizens have been urged to follow the diversion plan and choose alternate routes to avoid congestion during the event.
