Huawei has introduced the Smart Screen S7 series, a new lineup of 4K MiniLED televisions available in sizes ranging from 55 inches to 98 inches.
The TVs use Super MiniLED panels and run on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4.3 software alongside the company’s proprietary Honghu processor.
Display and Performance
The Smart Screen S7 lineup includes 55 inch, 65-inch, 75 inch, 85 inch, and 98-inch models. All models use 4K LCD panels with MiniLED backlighting.
The 55-inch and 65-inch versions offer 400 nits typical brightness and up to 1,200 nits peak brightness. The 75-inch and 85-inch models increase brightness to 450 nits typical and 1,500 nits peak brightness.
Huawei said the 98-inch model delivers 500 nits typical brightness, 1,200 nits peak brightness, and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The 55-inch through 85-inch models feature native 120Hz refresh rates with support for up to 300Hz motion enhancement when connected to gaming consoles or PCs.
The 98-inch version supports a native 144Hz refresh rate with a 288Hz motion enhancement mode.
Software and Features
The 55-inch to 85-inch models are powered by Huawei’s new Honghu chipset and include 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. Huawei also added a virtual RAM feature that can allocate an additional 2GB for background processes.
The TVs run HarmonyOS 4.3 and include the Xiaoyi voice assistant.
Huawei equipped the lineup with an 8MP built-in camera that supports 1080p video calls and includes a physical privacy shutter.
The camera also supports posture detection and distance monitoring features designed to remind children to sit further from the screen.
Audio and Pricing
Speaker setups vary depending on screen size. The 55-inch and 65-inch models feature dual 25W speakers in a 2.0 channel system.
The 75-inch model adds two 25W tweeters, while the 85-inch version includes a 44W subwoofer in a 2.1 channel setup.
The 98-inch model uses dual 20W speakers alongside a 50W woofer. For connectivity, the smaller models include two HDMI 2.1 ports, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi 5 support.
The 98-inch model upgrades to three HDMI 2.1 ports and Wi-Fi 6. The Smart Screen S7 series is available in a Starry Gray finish.
Pricing starts at $600 for the 55-inch model and reaches $1,950 for the 98-inch version.
