Here’s the Latest World Test Championship Table After Bangladesh Thrash Pakistan

Pakistan slipped two places to seventh in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) standings after suffering a 104-run defeat to Bangladesh in the first Test at Mirpur.

Before the match, Pakistan were placed fifth in the table, sitting above both India and Bangladesh. But the loss has now pushed them below the two sides, with India moving up to fifth and Bangladesh climbing to sixth.

Bangladesh’s win was historic as it marked their first-ever Test victory over Pakistan. Chasing 268 in the fourth innings, Pakistan were bowled out for 163 after resuming the final session at 116-3, with Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam leading the collapse.

Abdullah Fazal fought hard with 66 after making 60 in the first innings, but Pakistan failed to build any meaningful partnerships once Bangladesh struck in quick succession. Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Rizwan, and Saud Shakeel all got starts, but none managed to turn them into match-saving knocks.

Earlier, Bangladesh had declared their second innings at 240-9 after captain Najmul Hossain Shanto made 87 and Mominul Haque added 56. That effort gave the hosts a target sturdy enough to put Pakistan under pressure in the final innings.

The defeat leaves Pakistan with 12 points from three matches and a points percentage of 33.33. Bangladesh, meanwhile, moved to 16 points from three matches with a points percentage of 44.44.

Australia remain on top of the standings, followed by New Zealand and South Africa.
