CM Punjab Orders to Arrest Owner of Housing Society if Someone Falls into Open Manhole

Maryam Nawaz has warned that housing society owners will be arrested if any citizen falls into an open manhole, following the death of a three-year-old girl in Faisalabad.

The chief minister made the remarks during a meeting of commissioners, where officials briefed her on proposed and ongoing development projects across different districts of Punjab.

Expressing anger over the Faisalabad incident, Maryam Nawaz directed commissioners to obtain monthly affidavits from all private housing societies confirming that no open manholes exist in their areas.

She also ordered authorities to issue notices to all private housing societies across Punjab regarding compliance with public safety measures.

During the meeting, the chief minister approved welfare projects under the District Development Plan using local revenue funds and instructed commissioners to remain active in the field instead of limiting themselves to office work.

District administrative officers also briefed her on approved and ongoing development projects in their respective areas.
