Traffic on the Karakoram Highway was suspended at multiple points after continuous rain triggered landslides and flooding in different areas of Shangla.
According to available details, the highway was closed for traffic in Jeejal and Patan after local streams overflowed, causing serious disruption for travelers.
The road was also blocked in Khidarnala and Sablomor, where landslides were reported following the ongoing spell of rain.
The closure affected the movement of vehicles on the route, while reports also emerged of damage to some vehicles travelling through the area.
Local authorities and the National Highway Authority have started efforts to reopen the road and assist people stranded due to the closure.
Travelers have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement and check the road situation before starting their journey, as rain-related disruptions continue to affect key routes in the region.
