The authority advised local administrations to closely monitor vulnerable areas and maintain readiness for rescue and relief operations.

NDMA Says Forecast Matches Seasonal Outlook

NDMA stated that the current weather conditions are consistent with the seasonal forecast issued earlier for the April-June period.

The authority noted that advance alerts issued three to four months ago had already warned of the possibility of severe weather during the ongoing season.

Emergency Preparedness Measures Ordered

The disaster management authority instructed relevant departments to:

  • Ensure availability of emergency response teams
  • Keep drainage systems clear in urban areas
  • Monitor flood-prone and landslide-hit regions
  • Maintain coordination among rescue agencies
  • Issue timely public advisories and warnings

Citizens were also urged to stay updated through official weather advisories and avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas during severe weather conditions.
