Pakistan Star Batter Makes T20I History With Record-Breaking Century Against Zimbabwe

Pakistan top-order batter Ayesha Zafar made history by scoring an unbeaten century against Zimbabwe in the first T20I at the National Bank Stadium.

Ayesha came in to bat at No. 3 with Pakistan at 23/1 in 1.5 overs and immediately took charge against the Zimbabwe bowling attack. She reached her maiden T20I hundred on the final ball of the innings, hitting Nomvelo Sibanda for four through the mid-wicket region.

The right-handed batter finished unbeaten on 102 off 47 balls, striking 15 fours and two sixes in a dominant innings. Her knock powered Pakistan to 237/5, their highest total in Women’s T20Is. The previous record was 181/4, scored against South Africa in 2024.

With the century, Ayesha became only the second Pakistani batter to score a hundred in Women’s T20Is, joining teammate Muneeba Ali, who has achieved the feat twice.

Ayesha’s 102 not out also matched the highest individual score by a Pakistani batter in Women’s T20Is, drawing level with Muneeba Ali.

Ayesha’s century came off just 47 balls, making it the fastest hundred by a Pakistani batter in Women’s T20Is. She surpassed the previous record held by Muneeba Ali, who reached her maiden century off 66 balls during the 2023 T20 World Cup.
