He also warned that strict legal action would be taken against traders who violated the notified prices or failed to display the official price lists.

Earlier this year, flour mill owners had announced a major reduction in flour prices following the arrival of the new wheat crop in the market.

According to the Flour Mills Association, wheat prices had dropped from Rs 95 to Rs 85 per kilogram, resulting in lower flour prices across the market.

At the time:

  • Flour No. 2.5 price in Karachi dropped from Rs107 to Rs95 per kg
  • Fine flour price decreased from Rs. 126 to Rs. 114 per kg

Market experts believe the increased supply of wheat crops could help stabilize prices and provide relief to consumers facing inflationary pressures.
