The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority has launched a major crackdown against unregistered private schools in Islamabad, warning that institutions operating illegally could face sealing and strict legal action.
The authority said there would be no compromise on students’ future and health, adding that immediate action would be taken against schools violating regulations.
Under the new directives, private schools will not be allowed to collect more than one month’s fee in advance, while charging fees beyond the 12-month academic session has been declared completely illegal.
Authorities also announced strict action against institutions involved in unlawful fee collection. Schools violating fee regulations may face:
- Heavy fines
- Financial audits
- Sealing of the institution
The regulatory authority has also enforced a “Lighter School Bags Policy” to protect students’ health.
According to the policy:
- A student’s school bag must not exceed 10% of their body weight
- Schools have been instructed to reduce unnecessary books and academic burden immediately
Officials said the move aims to prevent back pain and other health issues among children caused by heavy school bags.
A special complaint cell has also been established to address parents’ concerns and complaints regarding private educational institutions.
The chairman of the authority stated that exploitation of students and parents will not be tolerated under any circumstances and warned that a zero-tolerance policy would be implemented against all violations.

What about THE ACADEMY SCHOOL, IU ACADEMY, GENERATIONS SCHOOL, what they are teaching special to the students and charging hefty fees especially annual charges and over curriculum charges, is there any hearing to that or just only a comment to read about.
Well what to say now..please visit DHA lahore schools who are charging summer vacation fees and even with solar system installed already they charge electricity bill every month from each student..
I have aggree the statement but some thing add on 3 month summer vacation fee are waive off over burden the parents. Now to situation the prices in hike every things and utilities expense also. So cooperate the government in this matter.
