Pakistan Women defeated Zimbabwe by 67 runs in the second T20I at the National Bank Stadium to secure an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match home series.
The hosts will now head into Friday’s final fixture at the same venue with the series already sealed.
Chasing a challenging 171-run target, Zimbabwe were held to 103-8 in their 20 overs as Pakistan completed a dominant series-clinching victory.
Captain Nomvelo Sibanda was Zimbabwe’s top scorer with an unbeaten 18 off 37 balls, while No. 10 batter Kudzai Chigora made 14 not out.
Adel Zimunu and Lindokuhle Mabhero scored 12 runs each, followed by Beloved Biza with 11 and Natasha Mtomba with 10.
Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a disciplined collective effort. Nashra Sandhu was the standout performer, taking two wickets for 18 runs in three overs. Sadia Iqbal, Tuba Hassan, Ayesha Zafar, Natalia Pervaiz and captain Fatima Sana claimed one wicket apiece.
Earlier, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana’s decision to bat first proved successful as the home side posted 170-4 in 20 overs, powered by an unbeaten 78-run fifth-wicket partnership between Eyman Fatima and Natalia Pervaiz.
Pakistan made a quick start through openers Muneeba Ali and Gull Feroza, who added 27 runs before Feroza was dismissed for nine by Michelle Mavunga on the third ball of the fifth over.
The hosts then lost two more wickets, with previous match centurion Ayesha Zafar scoring four and returning batter Iram Javed making five.
At 46-3 in 7.4 overs, Eyman joined Muneeba at the crease. The pair rebuilt the innings with a 46-run fourth-wicket stand before Muneeba was dismissed by Lindokuhle Mabhero in the 14th over. She scored 36 off 33 balls, hitting four fours.
Following Muneeba’s departure, Eyman and Natalia took charge and gave Pakistan a strong finish with an unbeaten 78-run partnership.
Eyman led the way with a match-winning 79 not out off 43 balls, including 10 fours and four sixes. Her brilliant innings earned her the Player of the Match award.
Natalia provided solid support with 24 not out from 19 deliveries, hitting three fours.
For Zimbabwe, Precious Marange, Lindokuhle Mabhero and Michelle Mavunga picked up one wicket each.
