The Capital Development Authority has invited public feedback on a proposal to develop new mosque plots on unassigned and unused land in Islamabad’s F-11/1 and G-8/2 sectors.
According to a public notice issued by the Directorate of Urban Planning-I, the authority is considering the re-planning of selected land pockets for religious purposes under the “Regulations of Amendment in Layout Plans, 2019.”
The identified sites reportedly include un-designated and unutilized land located near schools, parks, class-III commercial centers, and graveyards within the two residential sectors.
CDA officials said the consultation process is intended to ensure public participation before any final decision is taken regarding the proposed mosque plots.
Residents and stakeholders have been asked to submit comments, objections, or suggestions within 10 days of the publication of the notice along with an attested copy of their CNIC.
The authority stated that all responses received during the consultation period will be reviewed under relevant urban planning regulations and development procedures.
The notice was issued by Director Urban Planning-I and Director General Spatial Planning Ijaz Ahmed Sheikh. The CDA has not yet disclosed the final number, size, or design details of the proposed mosque plots under the re-planning exercise.

Islamabad has witnessed a mushroom growth of mosques and allied madras’s at every corner of residential blocks. Most of such mosques are built on occupied land and it has now become a mafia. Every house is bound to listen “Azan” from at least six to seven mosques which are situated at walking distance. Please save the city from this madness which serves the purpose of employment to mulla and his cronies, not religion.
