The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced summer vacations for educational institutions in the province’s plain areas from May 22 to August 31, 2026.
According to education department sources, summer holidays were originally scheduled to begin on June 1. However, May 22, 23, and 24 already fall on the regular Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekly holidays.
Educational institutions would then have reopened for only two days on May 25 and 26 before Eid ul Adha holidays begin on May 27 and continue through May 31, prompting the government to start vacations earlier.
Officials said the previously announced schedule for summer vacations in plain and extremely cold mountainous areas of the province remains in place.
According to the education department, summer vacations in the coldest mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be observed from July 1 to July 31, 2026.
