The Keynesian Institute of Management & Sciences (KIMS) private school in Lahore is facing criticism after students claimed it scheduled exams during Punjab’s summer vacations.
According to details shared by students, O1 exams at KIMS are continuing till June 11, while Grade 8 exams are set to continue till June 4, even though Punjab’s summer break begins on May 22.
The provincial government announced early summer vacations due to rising temperatures and heatwave concerns.
KIMS’ own published program details state that its O-Level track follows condensed summer vacations, which suggests the school runs a tighter academic schedule than most institutions.
Meanwhile, the Government College University (GCU) has also come under fire for hiking summer semester fee by 150%, causing outrage among parents and students.
Elsewhere, the Lahore Grammar School (LGS) is another private school that has come under scrutiny for forcing students to attend classes despite Punjab government’s holiday announcements for all public and private schools and colleges.
