Speaking on the occasion, Wani said the revival of hockey required sustained efforts at all levels. He said the PHF planned to introduce the game in around 1,000 schools across the country to develop young talent, including boys and girls aged 10 to 12.

Wani said corporate sponsorship was vital for the growth of sports and assured that the sponsorship funds would be used only for players’ welfare, training facilities and preparation according to international standards.

Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khichi praised the initiative and expressed confidence that Pakistan could once again become a major force in international hockey with proper investment and talent identification.

Alaska Batteries Chairman Haroon Mehmood and Sky 47 CEO Hassan Abbas reaffirmed their commitment to supporting hockey and providing young players with opportunities to excel at the highest level.

Former Olympian Tauqeer Dar and former cricketer Rashid Latif also welcomed the initiative, describing it as a positive step toward restoring Pakistan hockey’s past glory.
