Sindh Warns Against Operating Unregistered Private Schools

The Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh has warned against operating private schools without mandatory registration, stating that legal action will be taken against institutions violating the law.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Additional Director Registration Rafia Mallah said several schools were being established and operated without obtaining prior registration from the relevant authority.

The directorate stated that running unregistered institutions violated the Sindh Private Educational Institutions (Regulation and Control) Ordinance and could negatively affect students’ academic future and educational standards.

Parents were advised to verify the registration status of schools before enrolling their children. According to the statement, private schools are required to meet prescribed standards related to infrastructure, qualified teaching staff, administration, safety measures, and educational facilities before registration is granted.

The directorate said schools must ensure facilities including classrooms, sanitation, clean drinking water, libraries, laboratories, playgrounds, and security arrangements. Institutions have also been directed to maintain attendance records, fee registers, and other official documentation in accordance with legal requirements.

The directorate warned that schools operating without registration could face fines, closure, and other legal action under the relevant laws.
