HDA Announces Major Crackdown Against Commercial Defaulters

The Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) has decided to launch a major crackdown against commercial entities that have defaulted on millions of rupees in government dues.

The authority warned that the no-objection certificates (NOCs) of several major properties could be canceled without further notice ahead of Eid al-Adha.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the HDA said it would begin a “final and decisive operation” against illegal commercial activities and property owners who have failed to clear outstanding land-use conversion charges despite repeated notices.

Director Planning and Development Control, Asghar Memon, expressed serious concern over the continued non-payment of government dues and directed all defaulters to immediately settle their liabilities.

He warned that strict action would be taken against those who failed to comply, including cancellation of NOCs and legal proceedings.

According to the HDA, repeated reminders and notices have already been issued through multiple channels, but several defaulters have continued to ignore the warnings.

The authority said the persistent failure of property owners to clear their dues had left it with no option but to proceed with enforcement action in the public interest.
