The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department has announced summer vacations for public and private educational institutions across the province.
According to a notification issued by the department, summer zone primary schools will remain closed from June 1 to August 31, while middle, high and higher secondary schools in summer zones will observe vacations from June 15 to August 16.
For winter zone schools, summer vacations will be observed from July 1 to July 31. The notification stated that summer camps will continue in schools located in summer zones during June 2026.
Classes will be held from Monday to Thursday between 7am and 9am for primary and middle schools, while high and higher secondary classes will continue until 9:40am. According to the schedule, primary school students will study English, General Science, General Knowledge, Mathematics and Urdu, while middle school students will attend classes for English, Mathematics, General Science and Urdu.
For high schools and higher secondary classes, separate science and humanities subjects have been included in the summer camp schedule.
The department further stated that school heads may adjust subjects and class duration according to students’ academic requirements, but daily engagement cannot extend beyond 10am. The notification also clarified that HSSC students will only be exempted during practical examination days conducted by Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs).
