DHA Residents to Face Heavy Fines For Slaughtering Animals Outside Designated Points

The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Islamabad-Rawalpindi has issued a strict warning to residents: performing Qurbani outside designated slaughter points will attract fines, the authority announced in an official notice.

The directive comes ahead of Eid ul-Adha 2026, with DHA I-R emphasizing the need for a “well-organized and hygienic Qurbani experience” across all its communities.

According to the notice, slaughtering animals at undesignated places is now strictly prohibited, and non-compliance may result in monetary penalties.

DHA I-R has established sector-wise slaughterhouse locations fully equipped for proper and hygienic animal slaughter. While the authority permits home Qurbani for small animals only, all larger animals—including cows, bulls, and camels—must be slaughtered exclusively at the designated sites.

The notice, published on DHA I-R’s official Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) accounts, informs residents that enforcement measures, including fines, will be implemented immediately for violations. Authorities have urged all residents to cooperate and use the designated slaughter facilities to avoid penalties.
