Authorities in Mansehra have imposed a temporary ban on tourists travelling to Saif-ul-Mulook Lake in Naran following heavy rains and landslides.
Police said the lake road has been closed to all types of traffic due to the risk of further landslides. The closure was ordered on the instructions of the deputy commissioner of Mansehra as a safety precaution.
Officials said the road will be reopened to tourists only after weather conditions improve.
A day earlier, a cloudburst and landslide washed away a section of the Saif-ul-Mulook Lake road, leaving thousands of tourists stranded along the route.
Police and the district administration launched a rescue operation and safely relocated all stranded tourists to Naran late at night.
Police have advised citizens and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel to upper areas until the weather stabilizes and to follow the instructions of the administration.
