Xiaomi has quietly expanded the availability of the Redmi Headphones Neo outside Japan. The new over-ear headphones are now listed in parts of Europe, Australia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia.
The headphones are aimed at the budget segment, but their feature list includes active noise cancellation, long battery life, wired Hi-Res Audio support, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
Audio and Connectivity
The Redmi Headphones Neo use 40mm, titanium-plated drivers. They support Hi-Res Audio when connected through a cable.
For wireless playback, the headphones use Bluetooth 5.4. Users can also switch between two paired devices without reconnecting each time.
Xiaomi has also included USB Type-C audio support. This can help in situations where low latency matters, such as gaming, video editing, and other real-time use cases.
Noise Cancellation and Calls
Xiaomi says the Redmi Headphones Neo can reduce ambient noise by up to 42dB.
The headphones also use a three-microphone system to help filter background noise during calls. Wind noise reduction is supported as well, which should help during outdoor use.
Battery and Design
The Redmi Headphones Neo pack a 600mAh battery. Xiaomi claims up to 72 hours of playback with ANC turned off, although real-world battery life will depend on volume levels and usage.
A 10-minute quick charge is claimed to provide around five hours of listening time.
The headphones weigh 263 grams and feature protein leather ear cushions with an adjustable headband.
Xiaomi is offering the headphones in Obsidian Black and Sand White at launch. Some reports have mentioned a Mist Blue version arriving later, but Xiaomi has not confirmed that color yet.
App Features and Pricing
The Xiaomi Earbuds app includes five EQ presets for users who want to adjust the sound. Android users also get Fast Pair support for easier setup.
Pricing depends on the market. The Redmi Headphones Neo cost about $78.
The pricing puts the headphones in the affordable over-ear category, where battery life and ANC performance are usually important factors for buyers.
