Special Security Plan Announced for Pakistan vs Australia ODI Series

A special security plan has been announced for today’s Pakistan-Australia ODI at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with around 4,500 police personnel deployed in and around the venue.

According to police, the deployment includes 328 traffic police officials to manage traffic and ensure smooth movement for citizens during the match. A special control room has also been established at Shehbaz Sharif Sports Complex to monitor the security situation.

Security has been divided into four zones, with each zone supervised by an SP-rank officer. Police said three-tier security will be provided at the stadium, while snipers have been deployed on nearby rooftops. The venue and surrounding areas will also be monitored through Safe City and CCTV cameras.

Additional police personnel have been deployed at important public places, while bus stands and hotels are under surveillance. Police station mobiles, Elite Force and Dolphin squads are patrolling around the stadium.

The first ODI of the Pakistan-Australia series is being played in Rawalpindi today. The remaining two matches will be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Three International Cricket Council (ICC) match officials also arrived in Pakistan ahead of the opening ODI. According to sources, umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Richard Kettleborough, along with match referee Graeme Labrooy, arrived at Islamabad International Airport on Friday morning and were escorted to the city under tight security.

As part of the security arrangements for their arrival, 12 police pickets were set up along the route from the airport to Islamabad. Dolphin Force and Elite Force commandos were also deployed to ensure foolproof security.

SP Potohar Division Babar Mumtaz supervised the security arrangements, while CTO Farhan Aslam led the traffic plan. Link roads were blocked during the VIP movement.
