New Vaccine That Kills Advanced Lung Cancer May Come to Pakistan Soon

Cuba has announced a breakthrough in cancer treatment with a therapeutic vaccine named Vaxira that helps the immune system recognize and attack lung cancer cells.

According to Cuban health authorities and scientific institutions involved in its development, the treatment works as an immunotherapy approach rather than a traditional vaccine. It aims to stimulate the body’s immune response so it can better identify cancer cells and slow or control tumor progression, particularly in advanced lung cancer cases.

The vaccine has been developed by Cuban biotechnology researchers as part of the country’s long-running cancer research program, which has focused heavily on immunotherapy-based treatments in recent years.

The Cuban Embassy in the United States said the achievement comes despite “decades of US economic blockade,” crediting domestic scientific capacity for sustaining medical innovation under restricted conditions.

Further clinical details, including large-scale trial data and international regulatory approvals, have not been fully detailed in the public announcement, and independent verification of global rollout timelines is still awaited.

Cuba has previously developed and exported several cancer-related therapies, and Vaxira represents another step in expanding its biotechnology-based healthcare model.
