The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) has called for a 200 percent increase in government employees’ salaries and a 500 percent increase in house rent, medical, and other allowances ahead of the Federal Budget 2026–27.
APCA’s central leadership has submitted a six-point charter of demands to the government and announced a protest in Islamabad on June 2 to press for its acceptance.
The association says government employees are facing mounting financial pressure due to rising inflation and higher living costs, making current salary structures inadequate.
APCA has also demanded a major revision of allowances, arguing that existing benefits no longer correspond to prevailing economic conditions.
The association has urged the government to abandon plans for the privatization of public-sector institutions.
APCA leaders maintain that inflation has significantly eroded the purchasing power of public servants, placing additional strain on employees and their families.
To push for its demands before the budget announcement, the association has called on government employees from across the country to participate in a protest in Islamabad.
Authorities in the federal capital have reportedly begun security preparations ahead of the planned gathering.
