The federal government is working on a package to provide tax relief to exporters in the upcoming Budget 2026–27, sources told ProPakistani.

During a recent meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and leaders of the business community, the Prime Minister assured that relief would be provided to exporters in the next budget.

The Prime Minister did not share details of the package with business leaders but reiterated the government’s commitment to providing relief to exporters in Budget 2026–27.

However, sources said the exporters’ key demand (ending the minimum tax regime) may be considered in the budget.

Under the second phase of the five-year Tariff Reform Plan (2025–2030), the government has also decided to reduce additional customs duty (ACD) on 3,149 tariff lines and bring regulatory duties (RD) down to 20 percent on more than 1,900 tariff lines in the upcoming budget.

Sources added that pending tax refunds will be cleared by the FBR by June 15, following directives from the Prime Minister.
