Pakistan Star Batter Suffers Injury Scare During Australia ODI Series

Pakistan’s left-handed opener Maaz Sadaqat was carried off the field after suffering a heavy blow to his head during the third home ODI against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium.

The incident happened on the fourth ball of the 10th over when Marnus Labuschagne cut a delivery from Arafat Minhas toward deep square.

Maaz Sadaqat, who was fielding at point, ran at full pace and managed to flick the ball back to save a run. However, he injured himself when his head hit the ground hard before he went into the fence during the fielding effort.

The 21-year-old remained down outside the boundary as teammate Shamyl Hussain called for medical attention. After being briefly examined by the medical staff, Sadaqat was helped off the field around the boundary.

The possible injury adds to Sadaqat’s difficult ODI series against Australia. The left-handed opener has struggled for runs, scoring only eight runs in two innings.

He made a cautious eight off 14 balls in the series opener and was dismissed for a golden duck in the next match, which Australia won by 41 runs at the same venue on Tuesday.
