Solar Panels Become More Expensive Across Pakistan

Solar panel prices have jumped sharply in Pakistan ahead of the federal budget, with market rates rising even before any official announcement regarding proposed tax changes.

According to market sources, prices of various solar panel models have increased by between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 9,000 per panel, adding to the cost of installing solar energy systems.

The price of a 585-watt solar panel has risen from around Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 27,000. Meanwhile, a 645-watt panel now costs Rs. 31,200, up from Rs. 22,000, while the price of a 720-watt panel has increased from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 33,500.

Industry sources also warned that inverter prices could increase in the coming weeks, potentially pushing up the overall cost of both residential and commercial solar systems.

The increase has sparked concern among consumers who were planning to invest in solar energy as a way to reduce electricity costs. Market observers say uncertainty surrounding possible budget measures has contributed to the latest surge in prices, particularly in Karachi, where traders have already adjusted rates ahead of the federal budget announcement.
